So this year we finally got a #FAKE Christmas tree. You know the kind that is 7ft tall and comes in a shoe box, as real as Astroturf and smells like some polycarbon something , probably made in China or Taiwan and that will spend 20 or 30 years in a land fill after it outlast it’s usefulness.

It’s no secret I believe in REAL Christmas trees, I think that with proper harvesting it is possible to manage self-sustained ecologically safe tree farms; farms that will employ local workforce to cut, trim and ship trees all over the country . For me it is all about the smell of the fresh cut pine, the resettling it to a tree stand, the having to trim it because un-doubly the trunk will have a knot right were the stand needs to be clamped at, the having to turn it to cover that bald spot, the dealing with the pine needles as the tree dries out and once it is taken down it becomes free mulch.
That is what in my opinion a Christmas #tree should be like.

Don’t misunderstand me I know that #Christmas is NOT about the tree, it’s (depending on your religion) about the #spiritual #renewal, the #birth of the #Savior, etc. It is about family and spending good quality time with them, the expectations, and the love placed on wrapping and giving. It’s about the ornaments that mark every year of your life and the stories they hold within. It’s about great food shared with love ones. For me Christmas is just MAGIC.
